Monday Music Mood: Now Playing
Welcome to the first edition of Monday Music Mood which will feature songs, videos, and curated playlists, of music both new and old, from mainstream, new, and international artists all over the globe. We at Dollf8ced want to help you start your week off right!
So let's get into it:
First up on the block is Childish Gambino's "This is America." Mr. Glover had everyone waxing poetic on his creativity these last couple of weeks and inspired other recording artists across the globe to record their own interpretations. The video's detailed and intense imagery depicts the realities of a black social state and is stark, in your face, and completely unapologetic.
Cardi B's debut's album Invasion of Privacy has been in heavy rotation and we love two tracks that she recently dropped visuals for especially. Cardi B's "I Like It" has Dominican Cubano flavor and Belcalis looks like the prettiest Merengue mami on the block. The color aesthetic is bright, poppin, and to die for. We LIVE.
"Be Careful" also on the album, and one she debuted on Saturday Night Live along with her baby bump, features Cardi in a wedding dress with ice blond hair blowing in the breeze, a là Kill Bill.
Last but certainly not least, we round out Monday Music Mood with a new video from Nigerian-American rapper Rukus. Last year in 2017, Rukus debuted "Wahala Wednesdays" featuring eight (8) tracks in video series format which is currently available on Youtube via his artist page. Album versions of the series can also be streamed or downloaded via Tidal and iTunes. This new video titled "Bae" depicts Rukus as the ultimate skirt chaser and resident male headache of five beauties who, unbeknownst to them, are all 'dating' him at the same time. Despite the nature of the storyline, the video was fun and refreshing due in part to the lovely and relatable vibes of the five (5) female leads.
Well that's all folks. We hope you enjoyed this first edition of Monday Music Mood and hope to see you next week!
